So i've only pplayed the base game thus far, and I wanted to ask from someone who has experience with both of these included expansions; how do they differ? what direction does each deck push the game play in?

Winter is more economic, providing more resource production and trade-in opportunities.

New Era is more conflict-y with more red/blue connections, armor and bonuses to razing and trading dealing.

We played the base game, base + winter, and base + new era last night.

To me, winter felt much more like the base game. The new era cards seemed more interesting. There are several cards that offer rewards for razing, but I just worked to raze cards in my hand. It made red tokens much more useful and a viable path to victory.

At this point, I'm not planning on ever playing without new era.
