My brother is moving to Palm Desert by the end of summer and will be teaching at one of the local schools. Does any here know if there any good gaming around? My brother's ideal gaming level is around mid to heavy euros, but he's up for anything. Any suggestions?

I don't know of anything specifically, but Meetup seems like a reasonable starting point; he can also try a Geeksearch coupled with geekmails to nearby likely Geeks.

There's some gaming going on in Redlands, both on meetup & here on the "West" forums. I know it's a commute, but commuting is better in the evenings and it's not every day, so...
Good luck!

Also, he could START a meetup to see who's interested. It's one of those situations where no student wants to ask a question cause they don't want to appear dumb, yet everyone else was thinking the same thing.

If there's no one available, create availability, and then see who comes out of the wood works.

Actually, we've been thinking about starting an after school program with board games. His old boardgame club adviser are doing programs in the Fresno area and we're thinking of branching out.

We live in the 29 Palms/Joshua Tree area (moved here in August 2016). Haven't found any local groups but would like to get involved with something. Did you find or start anything yet?

It's really for my brother who is a teacher at Desert Hot Springs. There's a Meetup every Thursday at a Denny's in downtown Palm Springs which he occasionally attends. But as a teacher, Thursdays are an inconvenience.

I'm right there with Brian Kelly... I move to Yucca Valley in October of 2016 and there is nothing going on with board games or Role Playing on the weekend and I have asked on Facebook, Meetup and looked high and low. But if you guys want to meet up. I am will to play.
