In the Hoenn region, Team Aqua has just released Kyogre into the world. Not understanding the gravity of their actions, the beast unleashes a devastating storm that spans the entire region. The legendary Golems, Regice, Registeel, and Regirock, as well as their master, Regigigas, call the now sinking Hoenn their home. Knowing the Golems cannot escape on their own, an intrepid team Pokemon Rangers take it upon themselves to save the ancient Pokemon. Can the Rangers save the legendary Pokemon before they are lost forever?
Forbidden Island: Pokemon is meant to be played as an unofficial expansion to Forbidden Island by Matt Leacock and published by Gamewright. This game is a Pokemon version of the Spanish only expansion, La Isla Prohibida: La Expansión Prohibida (Fawn of Medina Azahara), partially designed by Jesús Torres Castro. Thank you for Marty Kane (mekane on Board Game Geek) and Ozgur Ceylan (ozgurceylan on Board Game Geek) for their work in translating the original rules into English.

I love board games and I love Pokemon. I've enjoyed and played the Pokemon games basically from the start. I really enjoy the Forbidden Island game. Probably about a year ago, it dawned on me that a Pokemon skin on this game could be really cool.
So, the usual character roles are now accompanied with classic Pokemon.
Now, instead of Waters Rise, a big water Pokemon, Kyorge, uses Surf to make the waters rise.
I also considered, what would be fun to rescue in the Pokemon world? Maybe legendary Pokemon like Lugia or Ho-oh, but those ones would be able to escape from a sinking Island on their own. I also thought some Pokemon Fossils would be appropriate, but not as fun. I finally settled on some legendary Pokemon from the 3rd and 4th Generation of Pokemon: Regirock, Registeel, Regice, and Regigigas.
With the Pokemon you save, I also thought it would be cool if they could assist you. Introduce the Spanish only expansion: La Isla Prohibida: La Expansión Prohibida. http://bit.ly/29LFn8m
The Golems you save each gain a power introduced by the "Powers of the Magic Treasures" part of the expansion. Thank you to Marty Kane (mekane) for the translation of these. The original can be found here: http://bit.ly/2a8B0Ug.
I also included the "Fawn of Medina Azahara" part of the expansion in the form of Snorlax. Thank you to Ozgur Ceylan (ozgurceylan) for the translation of this. The original can be found here: http://bit.ly/2atUws1
I did not include the board set up variant in this, but if you're interested, I can find a link for it.
Here are links to the documents for the game:
Card/token print out: http://bit.ly/2a8FU2D
I made the cards on an online Pokemon Card maker found here: http://www.mypokecard.com/en/. I printed the cards and tokens on card stock and used different colored card sleeves for the different kinds of cards. I had most of figures shown in the pictures already, but you can play with the tokens on the print out.
At this time, it is intended that this is played with the original game.
Enjoy and leave any comments if you wish!

It seems obvious now how easy it would be to use normal Pokemon cards for the treasure cards. The energy cards are already elements, flying pokemon could be helicopter cards and others could be sandbags, with water pokemon as flood cards.
Check out the files! Pidgeotto are helicopter and Sandshrew are sandbags.
