That's a Palm Pilot on the left, and a pink iPod mini on the right. Yes, I've been doing BGTG that long!

When I search my list of played or owned games, I get a few true duplicates. I don't mean different versions of the game, or different editions. No, these are simply the same game showing up twice. I've got hundreds of games owned & rated, and this only happens rarely.

For instance, just now I'm looking at two lines that both for Hero of Weekhawken. Both of them say I've played the game the same number of times, both list the same rating, etc. When I hover over the links, they both go to

Curiously, though, one of them says I own it, the other does not.

It doesn't sound like a duplicate in the database, but rather two copies in your collection.

Do you have 2 entries under My Games?

Your collection includes anything you own, previously owned, rated, played, etc. It's possible to have two entries in your collection, one owned, one previously owned, or an owned and a wishlist, etc.

The idea behind allowing this to happen is that BGG allows hoarderscollectors to track multiple physical copies of games. Unfortunately, it's not all that difficult to add a duplicate unintentionally.

Both entries in your collection were added on the same day. I wonder if this wasn't a case of having the game entry open in more than one tab. (The same thing can happen with the new UI.)

There's no reliable way to identify duplicates on the site. Downloading the CSV and using a spreadsheet program to identify duplicates in the game ID column is an option.

Ah, that's it, thanks! I'll go fix those.
