Has anyone tried playing where you carry on after a failed break off rule, but just make the losing team try to escape? (I guess that would only be fun in solitaire, or if playing a campaign).

I haven't, and I'm not sure what the point would be?

If you do, I think you will have to start keeping track of daylight and ammunition.

I tend to agree with Mark, but feel free to increase your fun with the game as you see fit.

Thanks both. I appreciate I am free to use the game to have fun in whatever way I like.

The idea struck me when my opponent and I were just getting into a pell-mell style battle, when the non-English side broke, and we wanted to see just how many French and Spanish would actually have extricated themselves from the pell-mell battle to fight/escape another day. But I appreciate that this is not the game to simulate a several-day chase.
