I designed a few new cards backs for a deck I'm working on. I'm just wondering which back people think looks the best.

1 looks somewhat traditional and I like it.
2 looks kind of evil for some reason, like a monster deck to me.
3 has too much in the middle and not enough on the edges, it looks out of balance to me.

I am NOT a qualified expert at anything by the way!

As a qualified expert of my opinion I can safely state the following:
1) looks boring
2) & 3) look interesting

I don't like 1 at all.

I like 2 the best but some poster above is right, it looks very sinister.

3 I like less than 2, but could be better depending upon the purpose of the deck.

I have to ask the theme of the game on this one.

1 is so standardly boring...........but some games want that

2 has that dark violent sinister look ....... is that the theme?

3 is more ethereal and a bit mystical perhaps

I agree with the other posters. It depends on the theme. I'd only use #2 and/or #3 if the theme of the game was horror or at least creepy. I think they're both good-looking designs but the wisps-of-smoke effects give them a sinister feel for me. #1 is attractive but conventional, if that's what you're going for.

My decision would be #3. #2 is also acceptable. #1 is not enough of a design.

3 seems to me to be the most boring. Whisp of smoke; big deal. I think if it did'nt have the gold border line it might do better. And maybe get rid of the top and bottom rosetts while making the center 1 bigger for more focus.

2 is the most interesting, but is indeed a bit sinister with the 5 and 6 pointed stars. I think I might like it a bit more even, if all the stars were 5 pointed. Top and bottom red things look a bit like the tudor rose. This is my 1st choice, depending on the game.

1 has regularity, which is calming. I think it could be imprby making the top and bottom triangles full diamonds like they are on the sides. And, because that edge strip is interesting, I'd wonder if there was a way to make it 20% bigger, even at the cost of some of the interior black space. This is my 2nd choice.
