I've run a search trying I find out more information, but can't seem to find anything about it. Someone had posted a pic of a black box titled Codenames Undercover and I am curious if anyone knows anything about it. I don't see anything listed under expansions or variants.

Thanks!

My guess is some type of "Target" exclusive. Like the Ticket to Ride "First Journeys"

Thr same person that posted the Codenames game also posted pics of FJ, but he completely avoided the question of where he bought them from. Which is why I asked about it. First Journeys looks like it is more geared towards younger children. There is also a Machi Koro in a purple box.

In a perfect world, Codenames Undercover is just regular Codenames but in a black box, so that all the CAH players tie themselves into knots trying to figure out what's so obscene about "Washington" and "Orange"

I feel as though there should be a law name for those who like to tie CAH (most often hate) into questions people ask. I was seeking an answer and this doesn't quite fit or really contribute!

The black box is a pretty clear effort to catch the eye of players familiar with CAH.

Older games like Mindtrap and other puzzle games often had black boxes to give off mystery, or some such thing. The premise behind Codenames is guessing, "mystery", and such. None of us really know anything about it, so currently it's all a guess.

If the clues aren't stupidly rude, might be worth picking up a box to add them to the base game.

Judging from the back of the box, it's literally just Codenames, no rules changes. The only difference is that the words are chosen to be suggestive or be double entendres, like 'clam' or 'cleavage' or 'motorboat'. And some of the civilians are kind of making O faces.

I want someone to explain to me why "sheep" is a dirty word, except I bet actually I don't want anyone to do that.

I'm also very curious what the "explicit content" the box warns about is...

Like, the whole thing seems goofy and maybe cringe-inducing, but all the same I'm surprised CGE put out a standalone expansion to a big hit game, and copies are already in public hands but there's NO trace of it on BGG.

If the words really are different from the base game, could someone help me to acquire a copy if they see one?

I have a USA shipping address in Portland Oregon

Is it a moose that became a detective ? Or a detective who searches for moose?

You're on BoardGameGeek and you don't have wood for sheep?

Also, where do you get VIRGIN wool from? ugly sheep.

Ireland. Where the men are men and the sheep are nervous.

You must feel pretty sheepish right now?

Does this mean our team wasn't supposed to win original Codenames last week with the clue "ejaculation : 3" , and I was supposed to wait for this version to be released ?

Oh well.

We had "Penis: 3" last time. Worked out almost perfectly, but one of the players made an (btw awesome) analogy to "Austin Powers: Goldmember" and selected "Gold" as the 3rd word. ^_^

We had the same clue, but it turned out "giant" was the assassin...
