I think a word or two from one of the involved persons would be in order here.

Here is my take on it. You can do this comptetition "by yourself" on several levels. You can do it with just your off-the-top-of-your-head knowledge. You can then go google or browse through the BGG games database. In some way, that would be using outside knowledge. You could then ask the guy sitting right next to you, if he can spot any of them. And you can finally ask people you speak with on a daily basis.
Where do you cut the line?

I know the example above may be pushing it. If so I apologize for taking part in the thread, revealing a couple of games, that I had identified.

I've got no idea how many used the thread to answer correctly on all games. I personally only submitted those I could actually identify. Feel free to have someone look it up. But a comment like that, pulling down a lot of people based on the actions of a few is plain lame.
I think generalizing like that says a lot more about you. Or would that be all swedes in general?

Firstly, before war breaks out between Sweden and Denmark, I think I should point out that Doomfarer is (I believe) at least half Danish himself, so that comment was probably tongue-in cheek.

As for the working together at the Danish site, I think it was going a bit far, but look at it this way, none of those guys won, and a person who got one answer right, by himself, did, so it goes to show it's all in the luck of the draw. It's hard to tell how many people got the answers themselves, how many googled, and how many asked their 50 person strong gaming group for help. In the end, it's a fun contest, not a draw to see who escapes being eaten by a dragon...

No war is necessary. I see Paul lives in Skåne, which is being heavily settled by Danes these years. In a few years, the people of Skåne will probably demand a return to Denmark anyway.

Apart from that, the folder the thread on germangames.dk is in is a subforum for puzzles, which the webmaster of the site, as well as several others have provided a huge number of over the last year or so. Some have been fiercely competitive, and others friendly with people cooperating to get the answer. Check 'em out - they're really good puzzles.

As I see it, the latest thread about the Amelia puzzle was started on germangames.dk more as a "look, a new puzzle on another site", rather than as a "let's all get all the answers in order to increase our chances of winning". I support this with the knowledge that at least a couple of posters in the thread sent in their own (non-perfect) answers before participating in the thread, and at least one poster didn't send in an answer at all.

Thanks for clearing that up, my Danish is even worse than my Swedish! (so I'll really be in trouble if Skåne gets re-assimilated into Denmark )
