Consim Press has announced that they have entered into an agreement to publish a new edition of the The African Campaign.

http://www.consimpress.com/news/category/african-campaign

Further "... will not be changing the game but giving it a deluxe treatment with larger map, larger 5/8" counters, updating rules presentation, etc."

This link has samples of new mapboard art: http://talk.consimworld.com/WebX/.ee6f382

Well, I'm excited.

Back in the days when there were less maps we played every map back to back

Ooh a little higher, now a bit to the left, a little more, a little more, just a bit more. Oooh yes, that's the spot!

Larger map? Given that it was two map boards placed end to end (if my memory is not failing me) that's going to require quite a long table

I still have my Jedko Long Box edition.

Quoting from Consim again "...It'll have 1.5 maps - so, 22" x 50.75". There is an option to have them be 17" x 50.75", but it might cramp the charts, so we'll see."

I'm thinking my gaming chair will need wheels !! whistle

Especially if there's an open road and you move one of the recon units!

A few games are playable in a decent amount of space. The original edition of The African Campaign is one of them.

That's for The Campaign for North Africa because only European Royalty have tables big enough for that.

Looks like ConsimPress may be close to a P500 release this summer

hi guys -

Actually, it'll be better than "P-500 this summer". 8^)

I'm back on the project now, after a long hiatus with TLD. Map is almost done, counters and OOB cards are being proofed as I type, and rules editing is 25% done. TAC will not take long now!

I just put up map sample(s) on CSW:

Constructive comments invited. 8^) (The rest are at your own risk!)

Probably no more 'real' changes after this - just typo corrections and wording issues:

Now that's "Rolling the Tanks"! Compass Games has it on Pre-Order already .

What about the African Campaign makes it worth considering in a crowded wargame market? Because the game originally came out in 1973 there isn't much content available for a potential buyer to learn about the game. The reviews here on BGG don't seem too positive.

I think all potential buyers would love to hear from the fans of this game.
