Granting that colonialism was an exploitative system, I still don't perceive much to be offended by in this game. The player travels to various then existing German colonies (so not a game where one engages in colonialism) and witnesses the cultural production ongoing there in the form of traditional dances, ritualized military exercises and oral storytelling. This is portrayed as an enriching experience that is worth money and trouble to seek out, and which will determine victory in the game.

The artistic depictions are very 1890s European. That is, very condescending towards native cultures in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific.

The existence of colonies was exploitative - but yeah, the game itself just appears to be a roll & move around the colonies, like tourism.
