Simple question. Silver stones used to decide the winner in the event of a tie. But what if NOBODY bids? Do silver stones get used then, as the rules say something along the lines of "Players who have bid the same amount of gold..." is zero counted as a bid or not?

IIRC, if nobody bids for a character (i.e. all bids are zero) that character is discarded for the round and play moves on to the next character.

If nothing is bid, the character is discarded.

If the bid is a tie, and nobody bids with silver, the character is discarded.

If the bid is a tie, and the silver bid is a tie, the character is discarded - a great moment for the nonbidders.
