After reading over 200 rulebooks during the past ten years, this line literally jumped out at me:

"Give the [first player] Token to the player who will go first."

Holy cow. Finally, someone gets it right! A simple and elegant way to say what so many other rulebooks stumble over (you know what I mean... i.e., no longer will I be called out to go first for having the least hair. Or no longer am I directed to randomize the choice).

Let this be an example for all other rulebooks, on how to write that sentence!

An interesting choice, certainly, if a bit tautological.

We figured there was no need for yet another goofy way of choosing the first player. Just be mature and choose a person based on some criteria.

My usual first player rule is "whoever knows the rules best".

But what does this rulebook say about where to place the game board?

That is pretty good. But I don't know if it edges out "Play like you got a pair" from the Warmachine and Hordes rule book =P

I think we say place all the components in the middle of the play area, with no specific description. However, we didn't limit it to a table, so play on any surface you like!

So much ambiguity!

In a central location within reach of all players, duh!

Don't forget that the board should be face up!

I can't tell you how many rule books neglect this and simply ruined the experience for me. whistle

This first-player rule plus the first-player rule from The Great Heartland Hauling Co. are DHMG's personal statements on the ridiculousness of first-player rules.

We need someone to get meta and say "The first person who opens Chwazi on their phone gets to go first. In case of a tie, actually use Chwazi to decide who goes first."

Ha!
There's the always useful: "The first player to say they are going first goes first. For ties, the first player to say they were the first to say that goes first, etc."

And the equally valid but less useful "Choose a player to decide who goes first."

I'll check to see if we can upload them this week. I don't know the current status.
In the short term, looks like they're still available from the Kickstarter Update (freely available, not account needed)

We can give it a shot in the next couple of weeks. It hasn't been uploaded yet because the file size exceeds BGG's threshold and reducing the file size is time-intensive.
