I saw a movie today that was largely based on fact. On and on it went for a very long time about the atrocities committed against blacks in early America. It made me rethink the whole reparations issue. Maybe it is possible that we screwed them so badly and put them in such a hole that many generations later they are still at a significant disadvantage.

Most conservatives know the movie I'm talking about. It would be interesting to see the liberals guess since i'm sure they haven't seen it.

Was it the telecast of the GOP parties policies at the Republic convention? Or is that the sequel?

Oh, it's so nice to see the conservatives on this board finally showing some sympathy and understanding of the horrors of slavery and its aftereffects.

Because, oh, I'm so sure that the OP isn't being sarcastic and isn't thinking she's being so super clever with her gotcha thread.

Slavery jokes are the best! Oh!

As another BGG user (who I know wouldn't want to be mentioned on RSP, so I will anonymize him) said elsewhere:

"The GOP is the party of Lincoln, who ended slavery... which wasn't really all that bad actually."

Yeah, I'm hearing a lot of "the slaves who built the White House were well fed and cared for" today.
For fuck's sake! They were slaves! They were human beings who were enslaved! Does the word 'freedom' mean nothing to you people?

No, not on that list, and I gave you a significant hint: the liberals have not seen it. And trust me, this should be the only hint you need.

And no, I was not mocking slavery, I thought it was an atrocity before this movie and now I think it was a supreme atrocity. In fact, slavery and the struggles of the slaves were front and center of a sneak preview shown before the movie and I believe it was a pretty reasonable and historical depiction and based on what I saw, I felt hate for the slave owners.

Re: Oh, how inhumanely blacks were treated in early Anerica!
Wow. More hints.

1) Slavery/Blacks was not the intended focus of the movie, but it seemed to play an outsized role in it. Before seeing the movie, it would not have surprised me if there was no mention of slavery and very little mention of blacks (I think it dominated over half an hour of the movie.)

2) I suspect every person in the audience was conservative.

3) That's because if you are a liberal, you wouldn't admit to your friends that you paid to see this.
