The time has come to try out Mare Nostrum as a play by form!!

This will be a 5 player game, using the English rules with no expansions.

We will use the 5 heroes at a time play rule.

If you are interested in playing let me know below, once we have 5 I will randomly select civilizations and we will get started

Before your agree to play read the following as it is expectations for the game:

You do need to own the game to play (for those of you that have not yet recived your kickstarter copy, you can still play)

We all want the game to run smoothly and effectively. Play by forms are best when the go at a nice pace to keep people engaged in the game. Therefore, you must be able to check the game at least once every day.
I know things come up, and over the time of the game you may be gone a few days. That is fine, but let everyone know, and once you are back lets get the game going again.

I will run the PBF by posting a picture of the map, and giving you your personal info through a google doc (if It works out, if not through geek mail)

Lets keep all communication on the form, No secret messaging between players (contacting me of the form is fine.)

As the dice are different, I will do dice rolls by using my physical dice and posting the results.

Aids to help you out
not necessary to play but may help
https://academygames.com/games/mare-nostrum-empire -Rules You will have to create an account to download
Heroes and wonders Page 1 is a quick reference to the heroes and wonders used in the game

Playing the form

This is pretty standard for most PBF s I have been in but it works so

please put all game actions in bold

comments or other such things in regular text

and of course the ever exciting thematic dialogue in italics

Last notes

This is the first PBF I will have run so bare with me as we go. I think it should go great, but obviously there could be hiccups.

Feel free to help me out with rules, and for those that don't get into the game follow along and help out as well

Lets have some fun!

Interested veteran BSG PBFer here.

Do you know how to use the BGG die roller? It makes rolling dice a breeze once you figure it out.

Sea Die Example: custom6{2;3;3;4;4;5} = (4) = 4 (Miss)
Land Die Example: custom6{3;3;4;4;5;6} = (5) = 5 (Hit)
2 Triremes Example: 2custom6{2;3;3;4;4;5}/5 = (4 + 2) / 5 = 1.2 (1 Hit)
3 Legions Example: 3custom6{3;3;4;4;5;6}/5 = (6 + 6 + 3) / 5 = 3 (3 Hits)

Woot! I will join. I've played in a lot of PBFs for other games. Please use "Sophia" instead of "JemL" for everything.

And yes, dice rolling with BGG is quite easy even though the dice are custom. And it would speed turns up quite a lot since we can roll for both offense and defense on our turns (there are no decisions about which dice to roll).

I didn't know you could do custom dice. We will use these instead. Thanks

Game Time

The Mediterranean had been unnaturally stormy over the winter. While the storms are brought rain for better than expected harvests to the region, it had also made travel and trade difficult. As the spring and brought a calmness to the waters, the clam was met with a sense of restlessness among the people. The time, they felt, was on hand to spread out, conquer, trade, and grow into the greatest empire on the sea.

2 Trade items selected.

So let it be known, the wise and honorable Hammurabi, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Bringer of Law, the Arm of Shamash, the Mouth of Marduk, has decreed it right and proper that merchants of the Kingdom should trade with the infidels of the foreign lands such that His glory and prosperity be known throughout the world.

/how should we relay what we've selected?never mind just saw
