Just finished my first game of GearSeed, and am really liking the aesthetic and gameplay. However, had a small rules clarification: with each player drawing three cards at the beginning of their turn, you are very likely to blow through the deck before the end of season 3, especially once card effects are taken into account. However, there are no "reshuffle" instructions in the booklet. Are you supposed to reshuffle the discard each turn? When drawing from an empty deck? Or is the deck supposed to create scarcity? Other than this question, really enjoyed the first play through!

Hey John!

Glad you're enjoying the game!

You shouldn't run out of cards for each player to have a complete turn each Season(even in a 3-4 player game). However, an individual player may run out of cards to draw in the last Season due to card abilities (but, keep in mind, abilities are carried out to the best of the player's ability).

Things to remember:

At the end of each player's turn, the player discards down to 3 cards in hand. Cards are discarded to the bottom of the deck (page 6 - Handsize, Discarding, and the End of the Turn).

The deck is shuffled at the beginning of each Season (page 4 - Seasons).

Raze in a 3-4 player game (page 6 - Additional 3 and 4 Player Rule - Raze).

To clarify, there is no discard pile. Discarded cards go face-down to the bottom of the draw pile.

Thanks! What I had missed was the fact that card discard to the bottom of the deck and reshuffle at the beginning of each season.

It would have been nice to have a quickreferece card for this game like those included in Neolithic, though I can see why you didn't.

Thanks for the clarification!
