I got to spend some time with a hard copy of the three games - SE, GP, TA. I am not talking about the prototype, hand made games that I had to proof months ago. I am talking about the production versions that will be shipping shortly.

All, I can say is WOW! Some thoughts:

- The box quality is fantastic. It blows away the boxes used in the original print runs. Deep and sturdy, they approach the quality of a GMT box - maybe not quite as glossy, but still great.

- The board quality is fantastic. The mounted boards are really sturdy, really flat, and they tile together very well.

- The counter quality is fantastic. The die cutting on my set was right on and the counters nearly fall right out of the sprues.

- I love the scenario pack. Counting the 3 training scenarios, there are now 57 scenarios in the system. The scenario pack has them all on double sided cardstock. Sweet.

**********
I need to pause for a moment. Time Out. This will be my first charged time out. This will be a 30 second time out.

57 scenarios! And many more are on the way. We are a real system now!

Time In
**********

- The rule book.....thank you again for all that helped with it....there are some nice touches in it - colored tabs for each section, a glossary and an index, reorganized.

- The full color player aid card - two in each game - I could never go back to the old one.

- Screaming Eagles counters are all updated to the new Prof system. Like the player aid card, I can't go back to the old way.

How do I feel? Happy? Relieved? Excited? All of those emotions! I won't completely exhale until it passes the customer test, but the games look great.

Thanks again for all your help and support! I hope you love the games!

Hurrah! It's so long since I made those TA scenarios that they will come as a surprise to me.

Great news! I am happy that you are so happy with the product! The system is extraordinary. I just need to figure out how to get your signature on the copy of TA so it matches the other two games I own.

Beresford, you did a great job on TA. I really like the mix of scenarios. I've said it before, but I think you are better at scenario design than I am.

It is not just the TA scenarios, but the Extra Scenarios. I was proofing the scenario pack and I ran across Tiger Paw and Hitler Meets Churchill - 12 maps in each. Those are some epic scenarios. Tackling Prokhorovka with 30 Russian tanks in one scenario - wow. It is also kind of cool that the system can handle it.

Congrats, Jim. You deserve components as good as your game!

OK, enough back-patting. Get back to work! :)

No worries there. This project was big and complicated. With this behind us, the foundation is now really solid so BoB material will be able to come at a much quicker pace. There is A LOT of BoB content in the oven right now.

Great news, Jim! And I'm glad you're so happy with the edition. Once I finish off my Master's I'll be getting back to playtesting FTGU. I have a few minor map revisions to make still and a good deal of scenario writing. I've been slowly standing up my French playtest team. I'm lucky to have the attention of some complete beginners who make great observations like, "Oh, I see, if that artillery mission comes down behind me I'm going to have a hard time retreating out of this position..." If anyone is in Fort Worth this coming December, I'm going to try to arrange a public demonstration.

Sounds good, Neal! Finish up your degree. There is no need to hurry. I have a couple of things planned for this year so FTGU could not be published for at least a year anyway.

"FTGU"? Would this be about the 90th?

Yes, to taking time to finish degree, UGH! to waiting a year. It was what, 3 years between Ghost Panzer and TA, let's hope that Old Breed and Commonwealth are spaced somewhat closer. I realize that timing of BoB modules are ultimately up to Worthington, and they have other priorities.

We are in a different spot right now than we were then. It should not be that long. The reason why I said Neal could take his time and finish his degree is because we have lots of content already FOR THIS COMING YEAR.

Great news, I'm so happy that the complete package is all that you hoped it would be. Great to see a dream realized (and the foundation for more expansions laid).

After backing and canceling repeatedly over the past few weeks, I finally broke down and backed all three games at the $125 level with just 40 seconds to go

I also backed Old School Tactical, so I kept trying to rationalize whether or not I need two squad level systems. But it's Jim Krohn - one of my favorite designers (for Space Empires: 4X alone) so...yeah...I need this too.

I had this Nyquil induced nightmare recently where the new kickstarter messed up the shipping and we had to wait until late September. Stoopid head cold...
