there first was Elfenroads
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/711/elfenroads

then they created Elfenland
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/10/elfenland

and now they released Elfenroads 2015
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/180325/elfenroads

so can anyone please explain the difference between the 3 versions,
i know 2015 has 3 game modes so are they the original Elfenroads, Elfenland and a new version?
or what...?

i have an option to get Elfenroads 2015 at a very high price or Elfenland at a very low price, any reason to choose 2015?

thank you!

A quick muddled history...

Elfenroads was the original game - heavy gamer game with an economic/auction element.

Elfenland was the family version, removing the economy and just concentrating on route building and travelling. This has a different map from the original game above.

Elfengold was an expansion for Elfenland that allowed you to play Elfenroads on the Elfenland map by adding in the economy/auction rules.

The 2015 edition has many names, so I'll just call it this. This is basically Elfenland, Elfengold (so you can play Elfenroads) and a new map/game, Elfensea. You get two game boards (reworked art of the Elfenland board, plus a new Elfensea board.

What to get? Not sure. I find the older art from Elfenland much better and clearer, compared to the 2015 edition. But you get so much more game in 2015.
