The subscription editing form has a very bad UI. Each dropbox has 3 states, one of which being default with an explanation of what the default is. It would be much more intuitive if the dropboxes had only two states and were prepopulated to their respective values. See image comparison:

I disagree. Subscriptions are very confusing. If you lose track of what the default setting is, then it becomes difficult to understand if the "Yes" or "No" value is an override for the particular game, or if the value is the default.

To solve that one of the two values in each dropbox could be suffixed with "(default)", e.g. "No (default)". Alternatively, instead of "(default)" a simple star (*) would suffice with the star being explained at the bottom as meaning default. This way at a glance you'd see which one is Yes, which of those two are default. Just speaking from experience (senior software engineer). As it is, the UI is rather cluttered.

I might be more clear to have "inherited" instead of "default", but the fact it isn't locally set is important information that'd be lost if the change was made to your suggested two-state system.
