I'm probably picking up scythe and would like to know a couple of things about the expanded board add on...

1. How big is the board? Need to make sure it fits on the table first
2. Will this be made available through retail or just through the website and when might it be available?

Thanks.

The game board is 624x818mm, and it grows to 818x936mm with the extension.
And it looks great!

The other question I don't know the answer to.

And realize that each player will have a faction mat and a player mat, thus enlarging the game's footprint even more.

Scythe with the board expansion is awesomely epic, but it needs a big table.

If it follows the pattern of other Stonemaier add-ons, it will be available on the website only. Not an official answer, but this is how it usually happens.

Thanks, Jamey. Just measured my table...it fits, but would have no room for payer mats. Guess I need a bigger table.

I wanted a larger table when I started playing X-Wing. I ended up getting a custom table pad (48" x 80") to go over my dining room table. Works well. Nice folks to deal with: http://www.guardian-tablepad.com/

Here's what it looks like on a 5' (152cm) table, when setup with the large board.

Hmmmm, makes you wonder if there's some sort of secret conspiracy or backhanded payments going on between boardgame companies and table making companies....."make the board a bit bigger and sell an extension - they'll definitely buy that. Then they'll need........a...bigger...table *strokes white cat*"

Did not work - used the platform of my old table and put a new (shelf) board on top - now I have a massive table to play (120x120 to 120x200).
The extended board barely fits the small version, but it looks sooo good.
