Hello all. A bit of an awkward first post, as I'm writing in support of Board In The City, a games cafe based in Southampton, UK. It hosts boardgames, RPGs, wargames and more. It is also a not-for-profit business which does lots of outreach work in the community, especially for disenfranchised children, the elderly and the disabled. Go here if you'd like some more details:
It's also legit and has been covered in local news and gaming media:
Anyway, at the moment, funding is running low and BITC nearly had to close last week but for a fundraising drive that's managed to prop the concern up for a while. Despite its charitable activity, it has not yet been able to receive any grants and is presently self-funding. That, as you can imagine, is rather tenuous, but it is an amazing place that needs far more support and visibility.
So, if you can contribute anything, please visit their JustGiving page:
All I do really ask, however, is that you spread the word, which would be very much appreciated. Or, better still, you can come visit BITC itself and have a game!
Anyway, many thanks for your time.
