I am going to have a much lighter wallet at the end of this year...mostly due to the acquisitions that I plan for the second half of 2016.

Certain acquisitions:
Legendary Marvel: Civil War (Upper Deck)
Legendary Marvel: Deadpool (Upper Deck)
Legendary: Big Trouble in Little China (Upper Deck)
Cry Havoc (Portal Games)

More than 50% chances of getting them:
Legendary Encounters : Aliens (Upper Deck)
Legendary Encounters : Aliens expansion (Upper Deck)
Pandemic: Reign of Chtulhu (Z-Man games)

Less than 50% chances:
Pandemic: Iberia (Z-Man games)
Seasons: Enchanted Kingdom (Libellud)

Only if I find them on sale:
Legendary Encounters: Predator (Upper Deck)
Legendary Encounters: Firefly (Upper Deck)

Milenium blades + sleeves (if the game sows up at my FLGS)
Martians: A Story of Civilization (on Kickstarter)
Meowtopia (French version of Jungle Rumble) maybe

+ sleeves for games I already have.

And of course a few games which are on my wish-list if/when the price tag goes down.

My wife and I sold close to half our collection preparing for our move(this coming week). We put some of the money we made towards preorders/kickstarters for the second half of this year.

What I have on preorder:

Cry Havoc
3 Wishes
Codenames: Pictures
Junk Art
Nemo's War(Second edition)
Santorini
TTR: Rails and Sails
Flick'em Up: Red Rock Tomahawk

Games/Expansions on my radar that I haven't preordered:
Imperial Settlers: Aztecs
Unusual Suspects

I am sure reviews after Gen Con will put a few more games on my wish list.

I have a robust plan in place that will require a lot of explaining to the wife and might require a secondary employment option.

With that in mind the games I'm looking to acquire this year are:
A Study in Emerald
Cave Evil
Orléans: Deluxe Edition
Scythe

And I'm considering backing:
Glorantha: The Gods War
Peak Oil
Deep Madness
Haven

Of course there may be other games that pop up that could take priority over one of those listed.

I'm trying to slow down too now that I've been able to find a few of the grail games and my unplayed backlog is back up. Of course, that's when all the secondhand copies and clearance sales will emerge and tempt me!

Also trying to make progress on a few homebrew projects. Last fall's unfinished minis spraypainting is still in the garage (too hot to spray now) and for the summer have been doing a dungeon crawler (and have been buying up old minis for that).

My plans rarely stay focused, as I usually see something shinny to go after. But, for now my plan is to focus on the following:

Want to purchase/acquire in 2016:
A Feast for Odin
Terraforming Mars
Raiders of the North Sea
Codenames: Pictures
Legendary Encounters: A Firefly Deck Building Game

Must have expansions:

Orléans: Invasion
Targi: Die Erweiterung
Five Tribes: The Thieves of Naqala
More Shadows of Brimestone

Possibly distracting:
Via Nebula
Cottage Garden
Bruxelles 1893
Darkrock Ventures

Want to try and get in trade in 2016:

Fjords
Shipyard
Expedition: Northwest Passage
Helvetia

Hope to receive from Kickstarter in 2016 (I say hope as I am still awaiting one scheduled to arrive in October 2015):

Periorbis
Evolution: Climate
Nemo's War (second edition)

And last = TRY and stay off Kickstarter for the rest of 2016

For me I'm keen on Legendary: Civil War, Legendary: Deadpool as well. I love Pandemic but will wait on soe reviews for the Cthulhu one to oome out. Legendary: Big Trouble in Little China looks like it could be interesting...I haven't watched the movie but am thinking I should.

Other games:
Karuba - currently right at the top of my list.
Friday - I know this isn't a new game but I keep finding myself wanting to play something quick and easy when I have a small amount of down time.

Games I'll keep my eye on:
Ticket to Ride: Rails and Sails - looks interesting and New Zealand is actually on the world map!
Seafall - I loved Pandemic Legacy but need to see if I will enjoy this game system.
Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition: This looks really cool but any lengthy/heavy games really need to prove their place in my collection as they get played less frequently.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Thronw - Cosmic Encounter is supposed to be great, but this theme is more likely to encourage play among the people I know.

I had never considered calling it an acquisition plan. I love it!

Top of list, almost ready to bite:

Food Chain Magnate

That is going to really eat up the budget.

Must haves - that I am currently aware of:

Temporum expansion
Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails

Really want:
Scoville + expansions

Looking for a deal, or to trade:

Arboretum
Greed
Ugg-Tect
A Few Acres of Snow and other martin Wallace
The Gallerist

It seems as if I have picked the lowest hanging fruit [meaning cheapest priced, less than $30 w shipping] for my immediate needs.

I want to busy myself w unplayed games and I am currently taking a game design workshop, so I am working on developing my first game. This is my first time of talking about it on the geek! I am excited and somewhat confident but scared too! I want to do something feminist as there seems to be a lack of those. A medium weight strategy game. I know, good luck w that! I usually succeed with my art so that is what gives me the hubris to think I can pull it off. Plus I am gettin' all educated on the topic.

My plan is buy nothing until December. Then ask my wife to p500 Pendragon: The Fall of Roman Britain for me (hopefully she'll play it with me, but it will likely be destined mostly for solo play) and get Roll for the Galaxy: Ambition and maybe The Grizzled for us for XMas. Avoid buying anything in 2017 unless I get off my butt and sell/give away some of the games in my collection that I don't want.
