Has anybody else done this?

I haven't made up any "house" zombie rules, just substituted zombie figurines (painted purple of course) for the purple cubes.

Adds a bit of flavour to "mutation events"

I'm thinking of a "house rule" to allow the Colonel from State of Emergency being the only character who can "treat" purple i.e. zombies - as he would probably be carrying(and trained to use) a gun, so he can shoot a zombie as an action.

We really enjoy shooting zombies (purple treat action) from On the Brink, and miss it a bit in SoE.

Everything is better with zombies......

Are you talking about THE zombie figures?

If so, then you might want to change the thread title, otherwise we can't talk freely.

Hello Torben,

You have lost me a bit with your use of "THE" for zombie figures.

I'm using the figures that came with the game Zombies ( published by Twilight Games), spray painted them purple and use them instead of purple cubes.

I am using THE zombie figures. Though, they're a little faded.

We just use zombie figures for the Superbug scenario.
If I were you, I would be careful with houseruling that someone can treat the Superbug. The fact that you can't is in my opinion really the essence of this scenario.

Oh right, I forgot they are not "zombies"

Greetings Annemarie,

Thank you for your comment.
Agreed, not being able to "treat" superbug is an important facet to the variant.

This is why I'm limiting the "treat" ie shoot a zombie,to the Colonel only.
If he is not in play then its vaccines only.
Also the requirement to cure and eradicate still holds, just clearing the world of them doesn't give a victory condition (whereas in On the Brink it does - a cure is not necessary)

Still just a thought at this stage - have not tried it out yet.
