Didn't someone mentioned AEG's gonna come out with a third Tomb few years ago? Just wondering if they're still working on it if anyone knows or if I should just grab one now...

It was listed on BGG but recently went back to it and it was gone. They stopped working on it. But I did find a dead thread loose because it was linked to:

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/701099/dead

But these threads are available:

How's the rules upgrade in the Files section-does it make the game a lot playable now?

Not sure about which upgrade you are talking about. The Cryptmaster rules are better than the original rules but still have serious errors, particularly Mercenaries. But they are helpful and I love the game.

Some tools that helped me include:

https://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/76365/tomb-tomb-crypt...

https://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/58475/tomb-cryptmaste...

But make note of the missed items listed in the comments on that one.

Tomb and Tomb:Cryptmaster is still my favorite game. And thus of coarse my favorite dungeon crawl. I have played over 400 games now, if that matters. If you can figure out the rules, its a blast!

Do you need more card ideas for the D&D Adventure System games?
mbmbmbmbmb
Yes, Tomb & Tomb: Cryptmaster is one of those games I'd like to see come out in a new edition. The hero tokens were a neat idea, but I never got to enjoy the artwork because the important character details were on the back. A deck of cards might work better. If AEG fixed some of the card typos like "bar" cards and provided a few step-by-step examples to resolve some ambiguous game situations culled from the BGG forums(Monster REACTS & Raiding Party REACTS when entering the crypt order, etc.); the game would be fine in the state it's in,

I'm referring to the one done by edbolme, plus the one with the full FAQ.

worth buying for solo? I know the the original rules sucks. But if it can easily be customized with minor tweaks then turn it into a great game-yeah, I'll give it a shot!

On a side note, since they've stopped producing this game with much disappointments from all of us, why don't they just sell the license to someone else?

Tomb is very nice as a solo game. It has a Concentration aspect to it because you place half the total number of cards in a crypt and the rest are randomly allocated. So long as you play the monsters as aggressively against yourself as you would another player, you've got the full game experience. Tomb did sometimes drag a bit in some of the larger crypts if you had 4-5 cards and more than half were monsters or Traps, because then it was "Check for Holy or Magic" on the Monsters, Draw those cards, "Are any of them reacts on 'When entering the crypt?' If so, resolve them.", etc.

I would definitely Kickstart a second edition of Tomb - I'd recommend combining Tomb + Tomb:Cryptmaster into "Tomb Second Edition" or "Tomb Definitive Edition" or whatever it would be called.
