So, this just happened. I've had a back and forth in geekmail today with someone. The last message I got, I read first in the forwarded version. It was two sentences, 15 words total. Then when I read it in my geekmail, there was only the first sentence, two words total.

The message was sent from an iPhone. There was this emoticon in the forwarded message:

edit: I guess I just proved that the emoticon was the culprit, since it truncated my post just now!

Does the emoticon have < followed by a letter or other non-space character? That is a long-standing known truncation bug (that < followed by a letter silently truncates posts). (See forum formatting for a bit more info.)

Ah, okay, must be it. There's a period immediately following the emoticon, but I have no idea what characters make up the emoticon.
