This is an awesomely fun game to play.
Now that we are playing with a 10 card buy row, we noticed how quickly the buy row can get clogged up with free agents that no player really wants.
A simple fix is that after the last player has completed their purchase of free agents, allow each player the option to choose one free agent to remove from the game. Do this in the same player order that players chose free agents this round. Refill the buy row to 10 cards only after every player has had the chance to remove a card.
This is sufficient to keep the buy row fresh. It also adds a little more strategy as you have the choice to remove a high priced card if your opponent has more purchasing power or remove a card that you suspect they may be after.
Previously, we had tried removing two per player but we found that it affected the opponents too much.

Thanks for sharing this!
This sounds like a well thought out and reasonable variant.
