So my friend from Gencon sent me this! It loos like the Ferengi have 1-2 new buildings! I imagine that they either generate a new resource (Latinum?) or allow you to trade some resources.

Perhaps they generate a resource of your choosing. Latinum buys whatever resource you want like a wild card.

Please ask your friend to take some higher-resolution pictures. I can barely make anything out in that shot.

difficult to see, but if you refer to those triangle/pyramid-like minis they look more like the base of the fleet markers, a bit higher in the picture you can see an upside-down ship with a pin that fits in the slit of the pyramid mini

the ferengi definitely seem to add a new type of card, it looks like a discovery but they jump from player to player, i wonder how this will work and if the number is a cost to pay for it?

I'm guessing the number is a Diplomacy cost or check, based on the text of the crisis. No idea what that means though.

I'm wondering if you have to change the deck for them. If you just combine all 5 species cards and still only play a 3 player game, these would come up pretty rarely.

They look really cool though!

I bet they have trader/merchant cards of some variety to balance out the lack Ascendancy of Hegemony rolls. The Ferengi aren't militaristic, they capture through economic means.
Ohhhhhh, maybe you have to buy cilivizations based on their hegemony level!

Also being able to buy culture for production sounds pretty good but you need 25 production for 1 level of ascendancy! They probably have cards that give them much more production. Besides just building production on anything.

Rule 34: War is good for business

Neither the ferengi nor the Cardassians are available for purchase.

Both are pre-orderable on miniature market and a few other places but not expected out until fall.

The Cardassians are playable at Gencon, but that's it.
