Donnie (dad), Karrie (daughter, 9) and Ash (son, 15) and Chris (GM), played an intro round of Xenon Profiteer. This family was really into the science of the game, reading the great cards that accompany the game that talk about the science of removing Xenon from the air.
Donnie and Chris focused on building an effective air separation filter that allows them to remove more bad element cards (oxygen, nitrogen, krypton) and purchase upgrades that make other cards cheaper, to maximize Xenon production. Ash would buy new cards, either upgrades, pipe upgrades (increases hand size and victory points), or contracts (victory points and bonuses) when he could. Karrie only wanted contract cards, which are bought with Xenon cards.
Karrie purchased the needed 5 contract cards to end the game (which went fast, since she just focused on this). Since it happened so fast, only Chris, who knew the points in the game was able to keep up. Chris ended up beating Karrie by two points, which is pretty amazing considering she had never played the game before (and she was 9 years old).
Donnie ended up in third, not far behind and Ash ended up last, trying to utilize all of the ways to win, not focusing on a particular way.
