This game was advertising having a 2v2 mode. I'm not seeing it on the included rules sheet. Am I just not seeing it, or was there something included that I'm missing for it?

No, there is no team vs team mode. Solicits are oftrn wrong.

The set looks solid enough, however. I guess if you have both secret wars volume there would be plenty of ambition cards to play a PvP game with 2 players controlling the mastretminds...

You can easily play a home brew team game. The simplest way is borrowed from Ascension. When you recruit a card, you may place it in your partners discard pile. Your opponents may then draw a card if you do.

Maybe they meant the Avengers vs Xmen scheme?


Either way, for a 1 vs 1 you can do mastermind vs heroes.
If you're talking 2 vs 2, all you need to do is say each team member have shared VP pile so you work together against the other team.

I suppose one could even try some variations like each person can buy cards for team mates and such.
