When starting the game there is a message saying this app was not updated for iOS 10 and may not run correctly. When I go to enter a game code, it doesn't allow me to type in it, when I attempt to just start new game and select any of the next options the app just closes.

With that said, iOS 10 isn't officially out yet so it can just be iOS 10 that is buggy, but if not, do we know if there will be an update to Alchemists to officially support it if necessary, since it's not terribly far away?

Now that iOS 10 is 'in the wild', is this still an issue ?

Yes, I just tested it and the app crashes for me when you do about anything on it.

In case anyone doesn't already know, you can open http://alchemists.czechgames.com in a browser on your phone/tablet instead of using the app.

I actually did not know this, thank you.

Would be nice to hear tom czech games about if they plan to support the app however. Its so early in the era of apps + boardgames...

I would guess there would be an update coming anyway with the upcoming expansion as well.

Unfortunately, the webpage only allows you to select ingredients by clicking them on the screen. It does not give you the core mechanic of the game, which is using a camera to scan the ingredients in your cauldron to test, drink, and prepare potions. As a result, you lose out on what is probably the most fun part of the game, and -- more importantly -- you can cheat, because you can just tap whatever ingredients you want, with no ability to restrict your choices to the ingredient cards you actually have. So the webpage is functional, but it doesn't allow you play the game properly. Restricted but secret combinations of ingredients is the heart of the game, so game is simply not what it's supposed to be without a functioning app.

Hopefully CGE fixes this issue very soon.

Uhm, this is (if you didn't know) already in the app. That is, the ability to manually select instead of scanning. Sometimes it's the only choice, when your ravenfoot continously gets mistaken for a scorpion. There's no stopping cheaters from discarding other ingredients than what they scanned anyway, but then again why would you be playing with cheaters.

Good to know for our non-Android players. Usually we just use one device anyway (we try to limit the number of distractions at the table), but nice to know they're not being left behind.
