INFERNO BLADE!

Can we talk for a bit about Ascalon Alpha's weapon load out. So I can see reference to three different ranged weapon systems:

1.) Xyston - I assume this is a long rifle considering it has a decent range on it's attack and you can also use it like a bat to swing at enemies in melee (Which is super awesome). Xyston is a reference to a polearm. Another thing that made me think it was a rifle since that sounds similar to Oxtongue the long rifle for the Weissritter.

2.) Gladius - This one is interesting because judging by the mechanics it appears to be some sort of automatic firing weapon. Perhaps an auto cannon. In the only artwork we have for the Ascalon Alpha we see it firing wrist mounted auto cannons and spinning around. Perhaps this is the Gladius.

3.) Rocket Launcher - Pretty straight forward. I like that the Ascalon Alpha uses it as a means to gain more mobility and force movement on the battlefield. Feels very cinematic.

Then of course the Ascalon Alpha can also punch and kick in melee, which is awesome and reminds me of either Char's Zaku kick from Gundam or the Gespenst kick from SRW.

So did I guess correctly? Did I miss any of it's weapon systems. I really love that the Ascalon Alpha was unlocked because it definitely feels like it's filling that slot for a more real robot design and a ranged combat specialist. Both were kind of missing in the original four robot core set.

In almost every other game I love playing, I am a support / sniper / rogue class. It's a lot of fun to stay at the edge of the action and snipe buildings from under opponents trying to gain combat advantage, as it's hard to match Ascalon's range to respond.

You mentioned the source for Xyston, I think it's worth mentioning that "Gladius" is the name for the standard Roman short sword. A weapon with shorter reach seems like it would be appropriately named against one that's named after a polearm.

Also, in Armored Core V and Verdict Day, every AC in both games is able to kick - other attacks require a dedicated melee weapon. In honour of this fact, and the fact that I've built an Ascalon cosplay in AC, the Kick is the only melee attack my WIP build will be equipped with.

I already have the beginnings of a plan to create a very different second build for Ascalon, but the first one is... well, my usual level of crazy But we still need those last 3 Robot Abilities!

You have all 3 right. There's a Gladius cannon in each wrist that fires automatically. For its ultimate Magnum Hurricane!, multiple Gladius cannons burst out of each wrist and spin up, firing in a quick, overwhelming burst.
