Just curious as to why a Venus flyby was added to the 1972 Grand Tour (if I'm understanding it in the game correctly), when the Voyagers didn't need to do a Venus Flyby during their historic trips to the outer planets (they just went straight from Earth to Jupiter and beyond).

The synodic cycles in the game are a bit of a contrivance for gameplay purposes. Note that the Voyager probes launched in 1977, not 1972. Also, the Saturn-Jupiter synodic cycle is actually 20 years, not 3 as depicted in the game.

You can do a grand tour in the game by skipping Venus and going straight to Jupiter through the outer planets transfer or a Mars flyby. The Grand Tour mission only requires visiting the outer planets.

If then willing to extend the game to later years (house rulling), one would need an extended flyby schedule. Could someone create such for years 1987+? Note that this should be in the same style as in Leaving Earth, not the historical depiction.

The pattern is pretty easy to discern from the timeline cards. You can depart for Jupiter every other year, to Saturn every 3 years, to Uranus every 5 and Neptune every 6, If I'm not mistaken, the pattern should repeat itself every 30 years, so you could just reuse the cards; at the beginning of 1986, move your marker to 1956 and then add 30 to the year shown from then on.
