Just curious - will the game Santorini be sold on the island Santorini?

During the Kickstarter campaign I mentioned the game to a coworker who is originally from Greece. She had been to Santorini and thought it was one of the most beautiful places she had been in her life. She immediately wanted me to add a copy of the game for her to my pledge - which I did.

Chances are you already thought about selling the game in Santorini, Greece - I think it would probably sell like crazy.

Admittedly, I've only been once, but I'm not sure there is even a board game store on the island.

That being said, the name alone is what made me take a closer look at the game. The visuals definitely helped and, even though I'm not big on abstracts, the gameplay looked great so I ended up backing a copy.

And Santorini, specifically Oia, is one of my favorites spots on the planet. I'd recommend it to anyone.

+1 for Santorini being among the most beautiful places on Earth! But the island is SUPER small, I doubt there are any places that would sell it. Mostly it's people selling non-mass-market stuff.

Haha!! I don't think that people who go to Santorini on holiday are interested in buying board games....

I did meet a gamer from Greece who had been part of a large group buy at Gen Con. I don't know if any of his friends were from Santorini or not... but he seemed happy with the game!

For what it's worth, my coworker that wanted the game, is not a "gamer" at all. She thought the production of the game was very nice and it reminded her very much of good memories and she thought she could play the game with her grandchildren.

Perhaps not, but they are probably interested in souvenirs, and some people definitely prefer souvenirs that can be used over the usual kitsch. I think it could very well be a great idea.

No problem, the right place to sell this on Santorini would be in souvenir shops anyway

I can confirm that they do not sell Alhambra at the Alhambra.

Also, Santorini is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Queen fixed this by retheming it to New York. Perhaps merchandising is why Santorini no longer has the Red Square theme.

We *are* going to have a lot of trouble selling Tianenmen that way.

I suggest pretending that you are selling Go sets while secretly passing on the rules to Tiananmen. What is the Chinese equivalent to samizdat?
