So we haven't had a good TheMessage tournament in a while. That needs to change. So I hereby volunteer myself to be the bookkeeper for this affair. If Clay comes back and has a great idea, we can go with his. If not, there was one suggested called "Twin Towers" where your whole deck must comprise of just two mana costs. We can get the finer points ironed out as we go. The point is... let's Make Hearthstone Great Again!

Either post here or geekmail me if you want to take part.

People who are in:
A) GameCrossing 1-4 (B,C,D,E,F)
B) BimmyJim 2-2 (A,C,D,F)
C) brydru 3-2 (A,B,D,E,F)
D) Terwox 4-1 (A,B,C,E,F)
E) Laputian 1-3 (A,C,D,F)
F) Osirus 3-2 (A,B,C,D,E)

Spoke with TheMessage and he regrets it but he had to withdraw.

So far we have five, and I am certain Clay would join up bringing us to six. So do we just want to say "go" and hope that the sight of us frolicking in the Hearthstone meadows would bring people out of the woodwork for the next tournament, or do we want to wait until we have eight?

Okay, this tourney is greenlit. We will have only six, but let's get it going quick. No decklists sent, but you submit your decklist to this thread upon completion of the tournament. Play each person once when you see them online. Your deck is restricted to cards of two different mana costs. Wild format.

Starts on Friday. Any problems/questions/concerns?

So throughout the tourney you can use only cards that are released as of 8/19? (E.g., second wing of Karazhan.)

A while back I made a complaint about the Fantasy Football thread and its appropriateness in the RSP forum.

And to be fair, I make the same complaint here: why is this in the RSP forum?

Because it's intended to be for RSP members? Sure, there's a hearthstone forum for people who just want to play Hearthstone against anyone. But in spite of all the jerks, trolls, sockpuppets, extremists, invective-slingers, &c, RSP remains a community, and this is a tourney for that community since people (for reasons which understandably may be unclear) want to play against other people from that community.

Yes, this is hearthstone RSP style. During each match to have to either discuss Religion or Politics, or have sex with each other or something?

Unrelated (hopefully)- how about the winner of the tournament picks the rules for the next tournament? This should cut down on 2 weeks of voting.

Also, not too late to join.

Junior, can we clarify deck changes? I say we just allow whatever deck changes you want, as long as your deck fits the rules when you play it. I think this is especially valuable now, in the middle of a content release.

The only caveat I would suggest is a gentlemen's agreement not to "tech" your deck or choose a specific deck to target someone that you are about to play. For example, if I know Junior always plays Priest, I shouldn't make an anti-priest deck when I see him sign in and then be like, "Yo Junior, let's do this."

Game two is in the books. Laputian (SanktDavid) beat JrMcSpiffy.

A fun match where we both had a very similar approach to the deck. Not QUITE a mirror match, but it had that kinda feel to it.

But have you challenged others? This is not the "Who is most effective at beating Junior McSpiffy" tournament.

Terwox defeats JrMcSpiffy

And then I decided to test my unplayed decks against him.

Terwox defeats JrMcSpiffy even worse

And then even more worse.
