expansion integration
Conversion Kit: worth buying first edition?
Is there any advantage to owning the 1st edition as well (conversion)?

There are 2, new expansions coming from FFG specifically for the 2nd edition. They should cover all the useful opponents from the 1st edition on its expansions.

There are 2 expansions containing all the figures, characters and tiles from the 1st edition coming soon for 2nd edition. You should wait, unless you want to play 1st edition with keeper and all.
Note that these expansions will also contain two new scenarios.

It is my understanding that these new scenarios will be released through the app when these expansions come out, not be "contained" in them. Small but important distinction.

Yeah, there's no reason not to release them with the app so 1st edition players just get them automatically. If you don't actually have the expansion, you'd have to proxy the monsters and more importantly the TILES to be able to play the game as if you had them. Not choosing expansion characters is easy enough, but the other stuff is hard to fake.

Well i'd say in general no, the only two that integrate are the ones they'll re-release, Call of the Wild, and Forbidden Alchemy. Anything else would be wasted money as far as 2e is considered, but fine if you want to play 1e. So far we have no information on the other expansions/scenarios for 1e, but my gut feeling is they aren't supporting them, we'll see.

1e looks to increase in value as time goes on, especially if they don't make some changes to 2e, but you'd be the one to decide if it's worthwhile to you financially to get it.
