Since we narrowly missed the soundtrack stretch goal (Plot Twist! Or Maybe Not...?), I though it would be fun for us to suggest some alternate tunes for our fellow Giga-Robattlers to pop into their giant robot's cassette deck just before a fight.

My recommendation: Peter Crowley's "Beyond Space and Time"

This came on in the background while I was trying out Giga-Robo on Tabletopia, and it was a perfect match. The heroic fight music is already ideal for robot punch-ups, but throw in the random voiceovers babbling about One Man's Destiny and "In a time of darkness, the only force that can save good people is COURAGE!" and it's like it was made to go with this game!

Particularly appropriate tracks: Rise of the Titans, Journey Through the Dimensions, Dragon Flight to Tartarus

What about you? What tunes would you suggest we groove to as we rocket-kick our RobOpponent through a skyscraper?

If Steven doesn't say the Pacific Rim OST, he's a liar.

I usually listen to a constantly modified Youtube playlist of anime OPs. Though it was taken down by Youtube, there was a compilation video of every 80s mecha opening that I listened to at least 200 times while we were in development. So now I lean on this playlist as well:

Okay - Pacific Rim OST. Also Mass Effect isn't that bad in a pinch.

But I can't wait for Ayzn's theme (Germany death metal?).

That's a great playlist, Alex - thanks for sharing that!

Of course you know this one given your BGG handle, but no robot theme playlist is complete without good ol' PUNCH! PUNCH! PUNCH!

(And in the process of looking that up, I came across this fake fan-made trailer for a Jet Jaguar Movie, which made me smile.)

Alex's list covers most of the 80s classics. I'll try some newer tracks.

Maybe alittle on the nose, but I'd say anything by JAM Project. Like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tOKwyozoII
or this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TUTJ0klnKk
or this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grK1I_6k_b8

Also Gundam has been doing an excellent job lately with their opening music. For example both of build fighters Try openings were great
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEylcg0vCQY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJTVF5hK3jg
It's hard for me to not watch that second opening over and over because it briefly features the Tryon-3 firing off both it's fists, which always gets me pumped.

and Iron Blooded Orphans has probably one of the most compelling opening songs in a while in Raise You Flag

I can't NOT recommend this one be somewhere in the mix:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7PjQnw_E0U

And this is one which always fits for the most epic of mech battles;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoGMJHbV4Wk

And if I'm playing while drunk, I'm likely to add this to my playlist:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjVNlG5cZyQ

Other than that, a steady diet of Gundam/Evangelion/Armored Core/that one track from the Syndicate theme to kick things off:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ej9BFIJnwQ

And because I view them as theme songs for a couple of my ACs in Armored Core, I might toss these in the blender too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeC2g4n-ZnA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvaIgq5j2Q8

More likely the first of those 2 than the second, but I enjoy both.

Does this mean we're getting to re-enact one of the best AMVs in the history of AMVs in Giga-Robo?

You also can't go wrong with this battle song. The classic "let's fighting love" by Parker and Stone.

Za-Zan Za Za-Zan!
Za-Zan Za Za-Zan!
Zambot 3! Zambot 3!
Zambot 3! Zambot 3! Go!

I think it's widely understood that this is a silly opening, but I love Zambot 3.

I think the new Wonder Woman theme has the right weight for this game:

Not the original version, but the version I watched as a little kid:

And I'll always have a soft spot for this (my ringtone, in fact):
