Giving this a whirl for the first time.

I've been bouncing between the rules, the glossary and the extremely helpful rules rewrite available here in the files section.

Got it going pretty smooth but I can't for the life of me find an explanation for what the small square number chits are used for?

I don't have my copy handy, but if it's the ones I'm thinking of, they are used when your hero trains at the various people to increase their combat values (or is it decrease, I can't remember). There's one person for each attribute.

Basically, the numbers go over the attribute's number to show the change.

Yup, you're absolutely right, Scott. Just found it in the rules. If your skill increases through training or otherwise, place a chit to show the new level.
