Battle Line - $10 Deal of the Day

http://www.miniaturemarket.com/gmt0012.html

CSI - $15.49
Amazon - $18.97
Cardhaus - $14.99

I'm trying to decide whether to jump on this or wait for the new Schotten Totten. Do note that the Schotten Totten preorder at MM is only $9.89, and should be released in September.

Just go with whichever art you like more. Either way this is one of the best 2p fillers ever!

It looks like the new Schotten Totten will have a box that is half the size of the Battle Line box, that's enough to convince me to wait.

Didn't Battle Line expand upon Shotten Totten, creating more specialty cards? Will the new version be more like the original or like Battle Line?

How different is Battle Line from Hocus? To my understanding both use poker hands as the foundation for the game.

The 2004 edition of Schotten Totten added the tactics cards from Battle Line, and this edition will have them as well.

Thanks. I'll sit out for the new version.

I have the 2004 version of Schotten Totten. The difference between it and Battle Line is that battle line has one more number card in each suit. Battle Line numbered 1 to 10 where Schotten Totten is only 1 to 9.

I have this version (older printing) and the super thick hard-to-shuffle card stock is awful. If they haven't fixed that, I'd suggest holding out for ST.

Have you played Washington's War? I suspect the cardstock has only gotten thicker over time.

According to this, in the new Iello edition of Schotten Totten, there will be some new rules in the "advanced" variant:

The basic game is the same as before - The advanced game, however, is not.

I've noticed two major differences in the french rules from Iello edition:

1) Each player gets a concealed hand of 7 cards (instead of 6)

2) The Scout card works differently: after choosing two cards from your hand, you must place them at the bottom (not on top) of their respective deck.

Wow, when I saw they had 136 last night, I didn't think it would come even close to selling out.
