In preparation for the World Championship of Agricola in Vienna, Austria in 2017, Mayfair games held a US qualifier at Gencon. One winner was chosen from all tournament games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to get a seat at the final table on Sunday. The Swiss scoring system was used. Finalists for Sunday's match were: Robert Kinder (who earned a spot by winning at Origins), Jonathan Swartz, Lisa Marie King, and Joe Knapp.

The winner was Joe Knapp. The scores were as follows:

Joe - 48
Jonathan - 45
Lisa - 38
Robert - 35

The tournament used the revised edition cards and a 10-3 system was used in the prelims. Sunday's final was a draft of 7 occs followed by 7 minors taking one and passing the rest

Mayfair did an excellent job running this event and I look forward to playing in this tournament again

Again,
Congratulations to Joe Knapp! He goes to Vienna to represent the US

Thanks for posting, really interesting to see the final boards! Obviously I have no idea how the game unfolded, but I'm pretty surprised to see, at this level of play, that one player had no crops (except a single veg), no plowed fields, no stables, only a single large pasture (devoid of any livestock), and an unused space. Wow.

Robert had many bonus points at the end. It made up for some of the negatives on animals, unused, and stables.
