Watching Utube videos has thrown me into confusion as to spawning after opening a door. I am sure I watched a couple of games where, after opening a walker spawns in the room, Then another game they took a spawn card and used that for the spawn. Which on is correct please.

When you open a new building for the first time in a game, you draw a spawn card for each room, and place zombies based on that card and your current threat level.

This is why it's generally a good idea to open buildings as early as possible.

Yeah, Youtube videos are not the best way to learn the game as many of them make mistakes.

The rules for spawning in buildings can be found on p20 of the rules. The main component of this is as follows:

Z:BP Rules p20 wrote:
Opening a closed building for the first time reveals all the
Zombies inside all rooms of the building (a single building
extends to all rooms connected by openings, sometimes
straddling several tiles). Indicate each Zone of the building,
one after the other in any order you choose, and draw a Zombie
card for each Zone. Place the corresponding number and
type of Zombies on the indicated Zone (see Zombies’ Phase
– Spawn, page 25).

Thanks for the information. I only received the game 2 days ago and haven't played it yet.
