Been playing this today. Seems to work well and can be easily adjusted.
The dealer gets dealt the same number of cards as the opposing player PLUS an agreed number of extra cards in their hand (the less extra cards the more difficult it will be).
The dealer and the player take it in turns to play cards. The normal rules apply for when the player plays a card.
When the dealer plays a card, he/she plays it either into the mainline or into a sideline as applicable. However, they do NOT pick up an extra card for playing one into a sideline.
This means effectively that the opposing player has a certain number of turns to get rid of their cards or guess the correct answer which is set by the number of cards the dealer has.
Thus, the dealer will win by playing all of their cards first without the opposing player guessing the rule/playing all of their cards.
The opposing player will win by guessing the rule OR by playing all their cards.
We haven't been playing with scores, so I haven't thought about dealer scoring, but presumably there would be a bonus for not having let the opposing player figure it out.
