Fimir are back after 20+ years! GW seem to have finally decided that whatever the garbled mess surrounding the HeroQuest rights issue, they are safe to go ahead and make Fimirs again

What are you talking about? We're already getting a completely legal reprint in the form of HQ 25th

I really hope you are joking. It's hard to tell sarcasm in text.

Well, we did get a new Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. If GW can iron out the rights with Hasbro, I see no reason they aren't looking at Heroquest. They've been doing quite a few boardgames recently, and to some apparent success. Plus it looks like they're pulling the boargame license from FFG, so I'm guessing chances are good.

Nothing official yet, just rumors. No news at Gencon from FFG and GW, no new games coming out, FFG is making miniature wargames now, and ultimately none of the beta playtesters have gotten new material in months (highly unusual). And to top it off, Christian Petersen said something like, "We can't say anything yet" at GenCon. All these are spawning rumors that FFG and GW are parting ways.

Same rumour as a year or two ago and probably also a rumour only.

But GW being GW. They may have increased the licensing fee more than FFG is willing to meet or is still viable.

Could also just be that they... you know... dont have anything scheduled.

As for the Firmir. GW announced those last year I believe. Thought they were out allready?

Ouch gulp What will that do to FFG's highly promising Warhammer Quest card game? Surely they'd go to great lengths to press on with that after the sell-out initial print run.

I don't think the Fimir demise was due to rights issues... More to do with the mess they made in production. The models were too big, so expensive, which didn't reflect the stats the original designers had gave them. No one wanted weak expensive units in their army.

Want to know more... Here's an interesting article.

Many thanks for that link - indeed a truly fascinating article. Makes you think they could really be developed into something quite new, and unique doesn't it.
