Hi all,

I'm ordering a few games and need another one to get free shipping.

so open to any recommendation that is fun for 2 or more players but is relatively small in size and around $20.

Any suggestions?
thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Dungeon

It is cheap, and it fits in two small zipbags.

More importantly: it's fun, and short.

Here's a couple of games which we got specifically for taking along when travelling:

2-player only:
Patchwork
Hive Pocket
2+:
Innovation
Sushi Go!
4+:
Turn the Tide

(Some of these might be much cheaper than $20, but that just means you can get two of them.)

2 players:
Age of War - dice game
Agent Hunter - guessing card game
Hive Pocket - chess like tile game
Jaipur - gathering gems game with cards
Monster City Planners - fun little area control game
Sugar Gliders - area control in nifty travel pouch
Mr. Jack Pocket - hidden role game

2 plus:
Cockroach Poker - excellent bluffing game
For Sale - auction game using cards
Four Tribes - small area control; this game is under the radar
Frank's Zoo - card game
Love Letter: Batman - the best of the bunch, many other versions
Just Desserts - silly card collecting game
No Thanks! - betting set collection game

These are just a few thoughts but some may not be readily available.

Good luck and have fun!!

For he lighter side, Eight-Minute Empire: Legends and The Builders: Middle Ages.
Any card or simple dice game can pack down pretty easy like Age of War.
Also, Roll For It! is a good light one.

You can probably pick up Star Realms and the expansion Star Realms: Colony Wars for about $20 USD (it was about $27 Canadian). If you pick up the Star Realms: Gambit Set you can also play it solo and cooperative.

I second Biblios, but also CANNOT recommend Lost Cities and Battle Line enough. Great, short, strategic, tense card games.

Anything from the Tiny Epic line from Gamelyn games.

I personally highly recommend Tiny Epic Galaxies.
The games feel like medium weight games, but come in small packaging. The extra bonus to TE Galaxies is that it has a very compelling solo game which plays very quickly and is easy to setup and cleanup.

By the way, you should rate your games so that when you ask questions like this in the future those of us who are willing to do the research can give you targeted suggestions.

Zombie Dice
A simple little game which requires the game dice, and a pen and paper for scoring. The tube container the game comes in is small but when I went to France I left that at home and took only the dice. If you don't take the container with you, you will need some kind of bag to blindly pick the dice from in-game.

Just looking at biblios and man it looks really good. Have no idea how I missed that one so thanks for the recommendation. I can see how tense and addictive it could get. Why isn't it rated higher?

A pack of playing cards. Aside from the other considerations like portability and the availability of many excellent games, things often get lost or left behind whilst traveling, and a pack of cards is easily replaced.

Ninja Taisen is definitely small and portable.
It's two players only, though.
