Question.

I, as the French, play an artillery card dueing my impulse. Card says firepower 7.

How does this work?

a. I just shoot into another area with an attack of 7.
b. I get a 7 plus roll two dice and add it all tohether.
c. I get the 7 plus the two dice plus strength from any troops involved in the attack.

B.

Playing the card is your impulse, so you do not get to combine it with the units from the firing area.

attack strength = 7 firepower from card + (2d6)
defense strength = highest defense value of a single unit in defending area + terrain benefit (if it qualifies for terrain benefit, see 8.3.2)

If attack strength - defense strength > 0, then apply that many hits to the units in the defending area.
