Yeah, that's what I figured. The arrows on the board make the counterclockwise direction of the ships easy, so I think it will be easy for player rotation as well.
Murano reminds me of Mangrovia, which features a counterclockwise rotation of starting player (if starting player is not chosen as an action). That always feels counter-intuitive, but in that case, there is a game-driven reason to move in that direction.
