Hypothetical question:

4 player game, and all players hoard gold coins.

What happens when Tax action from King's Order card played and NO gold coins exist in reserve?

1. Can you create more coins?

------------- OR ----------

2. You can only use the exact number of physical coins present in game.
You cannot create extra coins for reserve.
Basically the coins are just like army units - you only have what
physically exists with the game...

confused as usual in LA, Matt

I don't have the rules with me, so going from memory I think you can only use the coins provided. Somebody chime in!!!

That's what my thoughts are. You only play with the actual physical coins
included in the game...

Again: it's a hypothetical situation, but was just wondering since 1 of the players brought it up...

I would probably rule that once the coins are gone, they're gone. The real question is whether it would be possible to hoard coins without being wiped off the board by those that spent them. Given that thought, I think there are probably enough coins provided for this never to be an issue.

Agree with Andy.

For the record:

a. Gold Coins = 21
b. Silver coins = 32

I'm far away from my game, but I think it's 40 silver coins instead of 32.

In my first match (3 player) the mercenary army had a really large amount of coins because high betting and fear to recruit more mercenaries... Maybe that army can work as a "coin sink" xD

We played yesterday and we had this problem really. We used a kind of bonds. Was that correct or should we only use the coins in the game?
