Hello Everyone.

Like others, I tend to enjoy having background atmospheric music when playing games like MoM. While the app in 2nd edition has some of its own, I still like to break out some of my favorites for certain moments.

One of my favorites is the original soundtrack to Eternal Darkness, one of my favorite games from the Gamecube, and my first exposure to Lovecraft-like stuff in general.

"War to End All Wars" is perfect for monster combat situations, and "Gateway to Destiny" for me is ideal for endgame when the clock is ticking and the world's fate is in your hands.

Just felt like sharing this with people who may not be familiar with the game at all.

What are some of your favorite background musics when playing MoM?

For most of the horror games I play I use this:

As for the sound from the MoM2e app, I let that play, I like it.

I liked it too. The swell that happens from time to time was a bit annoying at first, I was invariably reading aloud whenever those occurred. That said, I grew accustomed.

I really enjoy the ambience of the MoM2nd app, but for my games of Eldritch I use a few different things. Maybe I'll use them for MoM too if the app music ever gets repetitive.

Impressions of the Miskatonic: https://wesley-slover.bandcamp.com/album/impressions-of-the-...

Extremely well done. This was recently posted by the creator over on the /r/lovecraft subreddit. I haven't gotten to play a game with this music yet, but I've been listening to it while I read at night.

The Resident Evil Remake OST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFn4m8gBfk8&list=PL1C69ADA56...

One of my favorite games growing up and that soundtrack still sends chills down my spine

The Bloodborne OST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhGZkdODoDM&list=PLCLeSTzz6t...

One of the best Lovecraftian video games ever made, hands down. Beautiful soundtrack as well. It's both creepy with bits of orchestral action from the boss fights.

The best Lovecraftian pieces of music in my opinion - all are complete records:

The records from Musica Cthulhiana are stellar:

Musica Cthulhiana - The fourth
Opening track "The Unnamable"

Musica Cthulhiana - Fragment

Musica Cthulhiana - Ether

More Ambient Scores from Cryo Chamber - less music, more sound-ish:

Cthulhu

Azatoth

This one is creepy as hell - maybe ideal for mansions:

Cryo Chamber has a lot of great ambient records - the upper two are the most obvious choices to pick up.

I started it recently. It... hasn't held up well. I think I got through the first three characters before shelving it. Might give it a new try again this fall.

You should give it another try. The first 3 characters are the most boring to get through.

Oh, to be sure, it's one of my all-time favorite games. My save file has a purple-aligned run. The story is very good. I just had my rose-tinted glasses knocked askew when I put it back in 10 years later.
