He was part of a 2014 Dice Tower kickstarter, after that he's only been sold at conventions and sometimes CSI.

No. Tomrick is a promo for The Dice Tower. CSI is one of The Dice Tower's main sponsors and sells many of their promos for them. And no, Tomrick is not normally a con exclusive; cons have just been a more reliable way of getting him lately.

He's on the stronger side, but I wouldn't call it broken.

$30 for a single figure? 3x the price of other single figures. Is their "retail price" just a value they made up?

Beats the $80+ you'll see in the off-season on eBay when Tomrick can't be found anywhere.

$30 is what Dice Tower charges as a donation towards funding their youtube series.

Is he the one that comes in and says 'since when is being back in stock a deal, blah blah blah'?

That's fine I know some people have bought this due to knowing its back in stock, that's all that mattered to me.

Why would anyone pay $80 for that?

(thinking the cult of unpainted miniatures has gotten out of hand)

Completionists pay a lot to get something like this one; Kickstarter exclusive, sometimes sold at conventions... normally it's not available.

I've seen it sell for much higher than that!

Oh and thanks for the heads up. I ordered Tomrick. I've given up on getting Elysia, I refuse to pay the amounts people want. Plus I backed AQ:I and with all the extra KS heroes from that, it will give me plenty of options with my AQ retail box.

LOL...I saw that there were 8 replies and I said that I bet money you would chime right in on this one!

I think the DT is an excellent organization and it's nice to see them growing and helping the hobby grow.

It goes to pay for new equipment and for Tom and I think maybe even Zee & Sam to work for the Tower full-time.

They provide an excellent service for our hobby, I think they're entitled to every penny that KS pushes out and more.

and his numerous kids.. To each their own.

Sure--the kickstarter pays him full-time to do the job he does. His pay will go towards mortgage, all that stuff.

If you're seeing it as the Kickstarter goes straight towards his mortgage and grocery bills, that's a very askew way of viewing it.

It pays their salary. What they do with their salary is up to them.

To be honest I am surprised they can pay multiple people on what they get from the kickstarter. They have to be making a lot more from youtube and other revenue sources.

Being he's a reviewer, if he were paid to do his reviews it'd be controversial I would think.

But thanks for coming in here and crapping all over the thread with negativity, you're becoming pretty synonymous with it lately LSD.
