Workaround to the BFG entry on Wikipedia

Some I can think up of are:
--Nukes in Battlestar Galactica Exodus, with the Cylon Fleet Board option, as this has extra rules that can wipe out everything in a sector

--The Molotov Cocktail in Zombicide

--the train stations in Ticket To Ride Europe... they can turn a bad situation into something that works

And yeah, this ain't just limited to combat scenarios. Something that lets you "obliterate" the opposition

Any reset/insta win/lose mechanic in any game. Or geberally the most powerful piece in any game.

The Queen in Chess
Five of a kind in Yahtzee
Royal Straight Flush in Poker
Strike in Bowling

Wargames in Twilight Struggle
The Wizard in the Wizard card game

Just about every game out there has some form of BFG. Even checkers has Kings.

I have kids. This is what I think of when I hear "BFG."

So, to take the thread in a slightly different direction, I think a few "Big Friendly Giants" of the boardgaming world include:

The start player marker in Evolution:

The pieces in the collector's edition of Takenoko:

The extended board from Scythe:

My first impression from the title was also that you were looking for the Big Friendly Giants of gaming...but since you're not:

(and I'll just note that image 447278 is much friendlier than 447287)

Given the subject of the thread, I think I would be remiss not to mention... the BFG from Doom: The Boardgame (2004).

(Also presumably to be found in DOOM: The Board Game (2016))

Since the link doesn't work I am still puzzled as to what BFG is. Is this some kind of secret cartel thing? A those in the know? Can I be branded stupid because I don't have some kind of psychic link? erm ...

This was my first thought as well, especially if you spin "hits nuclear stockpile" and everyone loses as the world goes up in a fire ball.

Yea, for some reason it doesn't take you to the page with that address. You have to click on the "Did you mean...?" link, which takes you the intended page.

In short, "Big F^#&ing Gun."
Presumably one which takes care of business.

I can't think of anything better to fit this description than a very aptly named creature from MTG, the Unglued set.
THIS;

That's it. Game over!

I know. Technically it's a card game, but it's listed on BGG. So there!

Another BFG would be a perfekt "Grand Hand Ouvert" in Skat.

(Must be some kind of BFG in some game =P )

Just do this for now. For some reason, BGG is not including the close parenthesis... ')'. Or copy and paste the full link into your address bar.
