What effect do the monster's special abilities (such as Aquatic and Flying) have on the rules? I can't find them defined anywhere in the rule books.

Is it all handled by the app? (And if so, do different scenarios make use of the abilities - I didn't notice anything special relating to monster abilities in the first scenario.)

It's not handled by the app as far as I have noticed. You have to keep track of them yourselves when you move the monsters, that the closest route for a Hound of Tindalos ignores walls, etc.

Hmm "moves through walls" seems fairly clear, but what about "Flying" and "Aquatic"?

All monster movement is done outside of the app. So you have to remember the monster abilities when moving them and apply them when possible. In the first scenario there is no water, so aquatic is useless. The phasing ability can always be used and the flying ability only rarely in the kitchen of the first scenario.

Flying will bypass impassable borders. Aquatic can cross water spaces.
