I have had a really fantastic week as GotW. Thanks so much to Daniel Zayas for nominating me. You have all asked me some great questions, often making me think beyond my typical scope of gaming.

But enough about me. My next order of business is to nominate Jay Howitt as the next GotW. I couldn't think of a better person to nominate. I first saw Jay's Breacher18 reviews when I was looking for people to preview Foodfighters. When I started watching her videos, I knew she was the right person for the job.

Since then I have gotten to know Jay's reviews, and have become very fond of them. I feel that Jay is one very important person on the game scene these days. But instead of me telling you about her, here she is ...

First of all I’d like to say a big thank you to Helaina for the nomination of geek of the week it’s a huge privilege to be recognised by other members of a community that is very dear to me. So a bit about myself I am a British woman and a mum to two crazy boys, Ben and George. I am soon to be a wife to my amazing fiancée Laura. These 3 are my best friends and have had a huge influence on my content creation for board games. When I’m not being an IT Engineer, I am board game reviewer/content creator under the name of Breacher18. I run the site breacher18.com where I post reviews and articles relating to the hobby. I am also a contributor for the Dice Tower’s Throat Punch Lunch, in which I do a segment called Café Chat along with the occasional game review for them. My website was born out of determination to create something about a subject I was passionate about, after being told repeatedly that no one would want to read anything written by me. Right now my gaming is so varied and I love it. I enjoy games that I can play with my family, which includes George (7), Ben (10) and Laura (I won’t put her age as I want to live). The ones we have been enjoying at the moment are Beasty Bar and Problem Picnic. I have also been playing Blood Rage a lot with Ben and Laura. Laura and I always enjoy playing any worker placement games together. The thing I love the most is what started off as a personal project is now a family project and I couldn’t be happier.

And to start Jay off, here are some questions for her to answer:

A What was the first game you played that made you think that there is something special about gaming?

B How many games a week would you say you play?

C If you could have any job in gaming, what would it be?

D Describe your ideal game. Mix together parts of published games if you need to.

Good luck Jay and enjoy your week

My usual question: Have you a favorite wizard? If so, who? If not, why? And which game (if any) is he/she from?

A: Lords of Waterdeep was my first hobby board game. I was fascinated with the mechanics I'd never even heard of terms like worker placement. No dice. Not just winning through luck. I was hooked.

B. It varries massively if I have taken on reviews for clients it can be a jam packed week. If it's just gaming for pleasure it's often around 3 different games a week.

C. I love talking about games and I really enjoy talking to people, something that can combine the two. Producing content and promoting the hobby and the community.

D. It has to be fun, I enjoy player interaction I'd say core mechanic is worker placement it has to look good, art by Josh Cappel would be cool. Quality components an original theme.

So, which existing Board Game would you've liked to be the designer of? Why?

1 I actually started off with war gaming, when I was 8, being from Nottingham I was really into Warhammer 40K.
2 40K
3 I had the transformers edition because why wouldn't you.
4 Never played it :S
5 If it's good people will know about it. I have yet to find a game that's amazing that no one has heard of, maybe one day
6 Anything with a timer because it's stressful as hell! Fuse

Aw thank you I think I'd like to have designed Five Tribes. It's a solid game with some great mechanics, the game makes you think about every turn you take, I don't mind a bit of AP. The setup being modular and meeples being randomly pulled from the bag gives it a lot of replayability. The special abilities of the Djinns are cool and the overall production of the game is stunning, it's a game to be proud of.

I am very lucky as Laura and I have yet to disagree on if we like a game or not. For me, time is more of a factor there for I don't get to play longer games as much as I would like to. T.I.M.E Stories being one of them.

I love that combination of answers

What game is really hard to win but still a favourite?
What game is really easy but still a favourite?
What game would you play more often if the set-up time were shorter?

Congrats on geeking up the week. I've enjoyed many of your reviews.

Every game for me is hard to win it is no secret I suck at games lol, but out of all of them so far Star Wars rebellion was my hardest defeat to stomach.
For me I'm undefeated at sheriff of Nottingham, now I know what you are thinking I'm good at bluffing? Wrong. I'm so bad people think it's a double bluff. I end up getting a lot of money from the sheriff.
Alchemist for sure love the game but a lot of fiddly bits to setup.
